アインシュタインが残した言葉ですけれど、「人間の価値はその人がどれくらい自分自身から解放されているかによって決まる」ということを言ってまして。

これは要するに、生まれたばかりの子どもというのは、自我に没入しているというか、自分の世界なわけですよね。徐々に他者から自分を客観的に見るという視点が出てくるわけですけれど、それにわれわれが言うメタ認知というのが、一番前頭葉を使うわけですよ。

たとえば自分がやるべき仕事はなにである、とかね。自分にとって、自分が見えている世界がどうだ、というだけじゃなくて、それが、他の人から見てどうなのかとか、他の国から見てどうなのか、他の文化から見てどうなのかということを常に問いかけるというのが、ぼくは一番、前頭葉を創造的な意味で使う行為なんだろうと思うんですよね。
