人間は逃げちゃいけない状況でも、眠きゃ寝る。酒を飲んじゃいけないと、わかっていてもつい飲んじゃう。夏休みの宿題は計画的にやった方があとで楽だとわかっていても、そうはいかない。八月末になって家族中が慌てだす。それを認めてやるのが落語だ。客席にいる周りの大人をよく見てみろ。昼間からこんなところで油を売ってるなんてロクなもんじゃねェヨ。でも努力して皆偉くなるんなら誰も苦労しない。努力したけど偉くならないから寄席に来てるんだ。『落語とは人間の業の肯定である』。よく覚えときな。教師なんてほとんど馬鹿なんだから、こんなことは教えねェだろう。嫌なことがあったら、たまには落語を聴きに来いや。あんまり聴き過ぎると無気力な大人になっちまうからそれも気をつけな」
